Initial ideas.

My initial ideas for my Film are to do something along the lines of a Crime Thriller or Horror. However I think that I am more likely to do Crime because I feel that there would be more room for me to come up with something creative because I find Horror really generic.

I would like to experiment with different shot types in my film because I find that it engages the audience more when the director can creatively uses different shot types. I'm undecided about the use of music , although when I am doing the credits it might be appropriate however I don't want it to look tacky therefore I feel like I need to chose the music carefully but also the time at which the music is played. I'm also aware that the equipment that is available to me is that which the school provides so therefore the likely hood that the end product could look like its homemade so I'm  very conscious that unless its intended that handshake needs to be eliminated wherever possible and that the actors need to actually believe in what they are doing otherwise this could also make the film look tacky or badly edited/created. Ultimately I would like to look as professionally produced as possible and well edited but I know that although it has the potential to look good realistically it wont look amazing.

As far as story goes the use of black comedy in crime films is always greatly appreciated by the audience so I feel like if I could include that it would help the overall atmosphere of my film. as far as detailed story I'm not sure yet, However some things I would like to include are some small talk between two/three people before committing crime like it was just casual everyday behavior which could potentially add to the comedic element but at the same time have the credit/titles appear over a black screen briefly but keep the diegetic sound and speech will the credits are showing. After the credits have shown I would like to show the title in the peak of the violence/crime and somehow have all of that accomplished in two minutes.  


For the setting I would like it to be urban but have movement so for example two crooks walking down a grimy urban overgrown path on there way to do their "job" . Have a sad but realistic atmosphere to show the brutal reality of this life.
