Target audience.

The target audience for Crime/Thriller is very wide therefore it is a genre that is/has always been popular. It is widely engaging because the Crime aspect can often have very realistic sub topics/genres for example .. Drugs , Prostitution , Guns ...etc. These can often be gritty , brutal but eyeopening for the audience but the gritty element can often be a big audience gainer because more and more people like to see if they can test them self's by seeing how "low" they can go. However because of this reason the Target audience isn't going to be aged below 15 due to the fact that legally they wouldn't be able to buy the film but equally isn't going to be people aged over 50 because more often than not people over 50 could find the content vulgar or obscene. Therefore I would say that the target audience would be between 15 to 50 and that these people are happy to see brutal violence or people who are interested by real however controversial topics.
